10/12/2023 0 Comments B5 s4 ttv flywheel vibration![]() I love my set up, it is by far the best clutch I ever had and I went through quite a few setups, including twin disc which was a horrible to drive thing. Stage 3+ which is the same but the pucks are feramic (or ceramic, I forget) and then lighter 6 puck disc that has the most holding capacity. B5 S4 TTV FLYWHEEL VIBRATION FULLMy set up is tial 770 with logs showing slightly north of 600WTQ in coldest winter to wheels, it is happy with AMD stage 3 set up which is "fibertuff" full disc, which means eight large pucks of friction material on a full face plate. That can easily put out 600WTQ / 750 crank TQ which will overwhelm everything but top notch TQ holding offering from AMD or dual/triple clutches. If your goals are modest torque, you'll probably be happy with TTV B5 FW with B7 top and stock B7 RS4 PP + some more aggressive disc. I do know a lot of people would recommend the AMD or JHM clutch combo, but from what I can see, both setups are B7 RS4 Pressure Plates (with AMD's being modified for B5 flywheel use) and an upgraded disk.ĪMD kit is B7 RS4 pressure plate with two modifications to it:ġ) modded plate, rivets and straps so it fits B5 FWĢ) modified diaphragm to exert more force The car will be making E85 K24/RS6 with rods power but this setup should be sufficient without breaking the bank. Kit includes: TTV flywheel w/pilot bearing. Opinions? Obviously a 6-puck disk would be able to hold more power, but at the expense of driveability. 24 MONTHS GUARANTEE Description Fitment Shipping and Refund TTV Lightweight Steel flywheel machined to work with the B7 RS4 clutch plate - Weighs 15.7lbs VAST Performance Stage 2 clutch kit with upgraded Kevlar friction liners on both sides of the friction disk. Looking for the best disk that will offer smooth engagement but still be able to hold a launch. Should OEM bolts suffice in this situation? Any clearance issues with the crank due to bolt length, or the clutch disk itself? ![]() TTV 2.7T to B7 Steel Lightweight FlywheelĬlutchnet Disk (Either full faced Feramic, Kevlar, or 6-puck**) However, through some research, there seems to be a debate on what flywheel bolts should be used and clearance issues.įor my setup, I'll be going with the following: If I can arrange everything, I'd like to try and get this done during fall break. When I'm doing my build, I'm highly considering going with a TTV Steel flywheel and B7 RS4 clutch setup. That's it for now! Hopefully this won't been too drawn out of a process. Unfortunately, I wasn't given those with the transmission, so I'll have to either find those, or genuine V8 5-speed parts. I know they are different on the V8, but from what I read, I should be to space out the 200 one ~1" to make them work. The only thing I still need to figure out is the transmission mounting arms. The rest I should be able to track down from a 200. For the clutch, I'm just going to order a stock 3B unit to keep the cost down. Yellow, I'll probably buy new, though I'd consider a good used one. I know there's a shop parting two 20v's about an hour from me, and I'm hoping they can make me a package deal, because this going to be $$$ otherwise. ![]() Luckily, others have forged the path already, but I'm definitely going to need access to a parts car. I've been looking into everything I need to collect to complete the swap. If you, uh, notice the big shiny part, a huge shoutout to Ben for helping me track down a brand new unobtanium Fidanza flywheel! Seriously, that takes a lot of headache out of just having this trans sitting out under the porch. We went out to eat, and by the time we got back, I had somehow been convinced to haul back ~500lbs of parts I didn't know I needed. What started as a small parts haul for the 200 very quickly turned into hours spent playing with their 200's and lusting over their factory 5-speed V8. My question is, does anyone know if these drill marks need to be oriented up/down/left/right, 270 degrees 27. There seems to be little drill marks on the rear of the flywheel. A few weeks ago, I took a day trip up to northern Ohio to visit the fine folks at German Auto Pro's (who, by the way, have some sweet-ass cars!). So i took my flywheel off old motor, didnt think about looking at the orientation of it because in the e36 world that i come from, never seen a flywheel like this lol. I have 800 in a TTV flywheel and B5 RS4 clutch. ![]()
